Important
- All costs are subject to change.
- This estimated cost of attendance will be listed on the I-20. This cost is an estimate for immigration purposes only and is not a billing statement. Proof of full funding must be provided before the I-20 document can be issued.
- Students should also budget for health insurance4, travel, books, personal expenses, etc.
- For NWC’s Federal Student Aid Cost of Attendance (COA) Policy, with annual standardized budget calculations, visit the Financial Aid Policies page for that document.
1 Tuition and Fees: International students are charged the nonresident tuition rate. Fees are assessed per credit hour. Additional lab or course fees may apply. Estimated amount includes the one-time $500 international student fee paid during student's first semester at NWC.
International students are required to enroll in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester. The I-20 cost estimate is based on 15 credit hours per semester since most students who average 15 credit hours per semester are eligible to graduate with two years of study.
Students are required to pay for the entire semester's amount of tuition and fees by the first day of each semester. Payment plans are available. Failure to pay by the deadline will result in the withdrawal from all classes and termination of the I-20.
2 Cost of On-Campus Housing Estimated cost is based on single occupancy room but rates will vary by housing type which include shared double room, small single room, super single room, suite single, and apartments. On-campus housing during official breaks (winter and summer) is available for an additional fee.
4 Health Insurance Health insurance is mandatory for all F-1 students. Coverage requirements and deadlines apply.
Scholarships
All international students are eligible for the Welcome to Wyoming Scholarship, a tuition waiver for up to $4600 per year. Amount varies based on the number of credits the student enrolls in. A GPA of 2.0 is required to receive the scholarship. No application required.
International students are eligible to apply for all academic, activity, and talent scholarships offered by Northwest College.
Under the Trapper Scholarship international students are eligible for $1000 for the first year of study. The Trapper Scholarship for the second year of study ranges from $1000 to $3000 and is based on the student's first year GPA. Students are encouraged to apply early as scholarships are available only until all funds are awarded.
Additional scholarships are available for returning students in their second year of study!
Working
International students may work on campus for up to 20 hours per week. Working off-campus is not permitted during the first year of study in the United States. Off-campus internship opportunities are available after students have completed 2 semesters of study through the CPT (Curricular Practical Training) program.
