Equine Studies
The college does not own horses — Students are encouraged to bring their own horses to campus.
Registered and non-registered horses of all breeds are acceptable. They must be sound and well-mannered.
Students taking the riding option need a finished horse to use for in and out of class work.
Students taking the training option need a young horse with approximately 60 days training and then you will finish the horse through the 4 semester sequence.
If you have questions about the appropriateness of your horse for the program, please talk with a faculty member.
Horses must have required immunizations to enter Northwest facilities. Upon acceptance to the program, you will receive detailed instructions about immunizations and transporting your horse.
