Despite win, Trappers remain off NJCAA poll

Trapper men top Sheridan
The Northwest College Trapper men’s basketball team handed No. 18 Sheridan College its first loss of the basketball season, grabbing a 79-69 victory on Saturday afternoon. The win sends Northwest into the holiday break at 14-2 overall and 2-0 in Region IX North play. “Obviously, this was a huge basketball game for us on a couple of fronts,” said Trapper head coach Andy Ward.

Trapper wrestling rises to eighth
The Northwest College wrestling team rose from 12th into a tie for eighth place in the first update to the junior college wrestling rankings this season. Seven members of the Trappers’ roster are listed among the individual rankings.

Trapper men fall late
Few coaches will tell you that there’s any such thing as a good loss, but Northwest College head men’s basketball coach Andy Ward was trying to look on the bright side after his team suffered its first defeats of the 2011-12 season.
