The Northwest College Trapper volleyball team saw its season come to a close after winning one of three games at the Region IX North tournament in Glendive, Mont., this past week. The Trappers wrapped up the regular season 22-18.
NWC had a tough draw right out of the gate as the Trappers were paired against Laramie County Community College. LCCC spent the bulk of the regular season ranked in the top 10 of the nation until being stripped of 20 victories in late October. The Golden Eagles recorded a 25-19, 25-10, 27-25 sweep to drop the Trappers into the elimination bracket.
Northwest staved off elimination in its first game against Sheridan College. The Trappers rolled 25-11, 26-24, 25-12 to reach Friday and a rematch of the 2009 championship game against Casper.
After sweeping Casper in the regular season, NWC wasn’t able to pull off a third win. Casper advanced in four games, winning 25-22, 25-23, 28-30, 25-12.
