POWELL, Wyoming — Area residents can learn to use the newest versions of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel in classes offered this fall through the Northwest College Center for Training and Development.
“Microsoft Excel 2013 Basics” is taught by Ashlee Lundvall from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15. She’ll start with basic functions and features, including an introduction to spreadsheet terminology. Also covered are basic formatting techniques, printing, creating and modifying charts, and managing large workbooks. For those already familiar with Excel, Lundvall will give a rundown of the new features worth knowing about in the new 2013 version. The $99 cost includes a manual.
For those Excel users ready to advance to the next step, Duncan Bonine will teach an intermediate Excel 2013 class Friday, Dec. 5. Students can expect to learn about linking and managing multiple worksheets and workbooks, advanced formatting, outlining and subtotals, cell and range names, lists and tables, Web and Internet features, advanced charting, documenting and auditing, templates and settings. Cost is $99 and includes a manual.
“QuickBooks 2013 Basics” will be taught by Jan Kraft from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on two Fridays, Nov. 7 and 14. Topics include an overview of accounting, getting started on setting up company books, every day and special transactions, and working with reports. Kraft will also offer tips and tricks garnered from 35 years working as a certified management accountant and college accounting instructor.
