POWELL, Wyo. - The Northwest College Center for Training and Development is sponsoring two free webinar series beginning Wednesday, Oct. 19, for individuals interested in starting their own business or growing the business they already have.
Two 90-minute back-to-back programs are offered online each month through June 2012. A new entrepreneur is featured each time in the live broadcasts, discussing topics that range from how to start an e-company to how to master youth marketing. After giving a how-to session in the first program, the same speaker turns the spotlight on themselves in the second program, focusing on his or her experiences as an entrepreneurial success.
Area community members can sign up for one or both tracks and participate from anywhere Internet access is available. Both series are broadcast on the third Wednesday of every month except for November and December, when they’ll be held on the second Wednesday.
The first series is titled “Creating Your Own Job” and runs from 1:45-3:15 p.m. It introduces the “entrepreneurial mindset” principles that can be used immediately by anybody to differentiate themselves and their businesses in the current competitive market. Participants will explore what it means to be an entrepreneur and how to prepare to be one.
The second series, “Succeeding as an Entrepreneur,” is broadcast from 3:30-5 p.m. It features the same speaker presenting their own story and how they implemented the entrepreneurial mindset principles to succeed in business. This track provides step-by-step knowledge on the business startup process. It is aimed at aspiring entrepreneurs with an idea they want to take action on.
The Wednesday, Oct. 19, speaker is Alexandra Mysoor, who started her first company, a public relations agency, at the age of 24 and grew it to a company with a million dollars in revenue within the first 18 months. After selling her business and having her first baby, Mysoor and her husband started Generation Orange, an online retail site selling natural products for babies and the home with minimal environmental impact. In her first year in business, Mysoor sold more than $1 million of product.
In the first track, Mysoor will talk about how to build and manage the logistics of a retail e-business in the Internet world and how to grow and sustain a customer base. In the second webinar, she’ll discuss the lessons she learned while building her two million-dollar businesses.
Both webinar series are provided free of charge by the NWC Center for Training and Development, however, participants must register in order to receive a log-in code.
