POWELL, Wyo. - In a showdown invoking images of Cody country history, the Trappers will battle the Bears when the Northwest College volleyball team faces Rocky Mountain College Wednesday, Sept. 2, in Cody. The match gets underway at 7 p.m. in the Cody High School Gym.

"I believe we've had great support from the community of Cody," Trapper Coach Flavia Siqueira said. "It's time to show our appreciation by playing one of our matches at Cody High School."

A Brazilian native, Siqueira came to Northwest last year from College of the Southwest in Hobbs, N.M. Her first-year Trappers caused jaws to drop across Region IX by racking up a 41-10 record. That stat is even more impressive when considering that four of those losses were posted in one weekend during the team's season-opening tournament in Idaho.

It's anybody's guess how they'll fare against the Rocky Mountain Junior Varsity team. The squads scrimmaged last year but haven't officially played against each other. Rocky's Battling Bears claimed second place last year in the Frontier Conference with a 19-8 record.

During the match, Trapper fans who sign up to become Trapper Boosters will receive an NWC Booster Club t-shirt. The Bronc Concession Stand will be open.

Admission is $3 for adults, $2 for students, and free to senior citizens, children under age 12 accompanied by an adult, and NWC students with ID card.
