P O W E L L, W y o. - Coming up in March, the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development will offer workshops by Chris Turner, Rhonda Shipp and Danel LaRose on making news, improving community communication and customer service.
Shipp's two-hour lunch workshop, Dialogue or Discord: Better Communication for Better Results, starts at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 14. In this session, she takes her February workshop, Forging Community Connections, to the next level by focusing on the role of communication in developing community relations. Participants will get hands-on opportunities to practice situation mapping and reframing skills. Cost is $25 and includes lunch.
Chris Turner will repeat his popular January seminar on how to "Make Your News Everybody's News" from 8:15-9:15 a.m. Friday, March 16. He'll explain how and who to contact in radio, television and newspaper "to get your news, event or product across." This free workshop is being repeated to give all those who couldn't fit into the January session another chance to take advantage of Turner's expertise.
A four-hour workshop titled STAR Customer Service: Customer Service That Will Rock Your World starts at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 22. Workshop leader Danel LaRose says every experience a business owner or employee has with a customer or potential customer places the reputation of the company on the line. She'll show how to create a "personal, pleasing and memorable interaction with each customer both internal and external." She focuses on both the skills and processes used in customer service. Cost is $50 per person and includes a workbook.
These training opportunities are all held at the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development located in the Park County Complex at 1501 Stampede Ave.
