POWELL, Wyoming — Northwest College invites Big Horn Basin youngsters and their grown-ups to “The Cat Princess,” a theatrical production for children staged Friday, April 24, at the Nelson Performing Arts Center on campus. The curtain rises at 6 p.m. Friday.
“This play has it all — a cat, a princess and a great message,” director Fred Ebert, said. “It tells kids when you’re not afraid of the bad person anymore, they don’t have any power over you.”
Written by Bill Hayden, the play is a show for children performed by NWC students. Cast members are Alex Flom and Brynne Hunt of Powell, Barrett Nordberg and Virginia Schmidt of Cody, Joe Hoffman of Basin, Ashley Bell (stage manager) of Cheyenne, and Rachel Nixon of Crawford, Nebraska.
“The Cat Princess” will be performed multiple times Wednesday-Friday, April 22-24, for more than 800 elementary school children from around the Basin who will be bussed to campus. Show times are 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Friday.
Admission is $2.50 for all ages.
