POWELL, Wyo. - A six-week “e-Business Boot Camp: Creating a Powerful Online Business Strategy” starts Wednesday, Oct. 12 in Cody. Small business owners will learn about creating online marketing strategies for their business through in-class presentations and hands-on experience.
Recognizing that in today’s economy, small business owners need all the ammunition they can get to market themselves competitively, the e-Business Boot Camp focuses on social media, the latest, and usually the least-expensive marketing option.
The boot camp meets from 6-9 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 12, 19, 26 and Nov. 16, with online work required during the weeks of Nov. 2 and 9.
Participants will focus specifically on business marketing through websites and five common business social media applications: Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, FourSquare and YouTube. They’ll also learn why it’s important to define a purpose for a social media campaign and how to select the appropriate venues to make it happen.
A variety of guest speakers will share their experience and expertise so that each business owner, before leaving the training, will have in hand the tools to develop and implement an online strategy specific to their business needs.
The e-Business Boot Camp costs $70 per person. It’s offered by the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development through a partnership with Forward Cody, the University of Wyoming Cooperative Extension Services, Wyoming Business Council, Small Business Development Center, Cody Country Chamber of Commerce, Park County Library and the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.
