POWELL, Wyo. - The public is invited to learn about the land of the rising sun at Japanese Night Tuesday, Feb. 25, from 7-9 p.m. in the DeWitt Student Center on the Northwest College Campus.
The program takes the audience on a virtual tour of the island nation to introduce the history, geography and culture of Japan through a multimedia presentation of images, traditional dress, cuisine and music.
Living in Wyoming and rubbing elbows with 5.85 people per square mile, it can be challenging to imagine what life is like where the population density is roughly 870 people per square mile. With over 126 million people, Japan has the world’s tenth largest population, and Tokyo is the largest metropolitan area in the world, with more than 30 million residents.
The free program is sponsored by NWC’s Multicultural Club, Intercultural Programs, Diversity Awareness Committee and Student Senate.
