POWELL, Wyo. - The annual Trombone Christmas Concert heralds the holidays with selections of the Christmas season Thursday, Nov. 29, with a 7:30 p.m. performance in Northwest College’s Hinckley Library Amphitheater.
Under the direction of NWC’s low brass instructor, Rick Parmer, this annual event features the combined Northwest Trombones and Big Horn Trombone Ensemble, assisted by several high school students from the area. Smaller ensembles will also perform in addition to the combined trombone choirs.
Included in their repertoire of traditional Christmas music and other selections are “Deck the Halls,” “Jingle Bells,” “Holly and the Ivy,” “Carol of the Bells” and “Holly Jolly Christmas.”
Performers include Jack Nauman from Basin; Nick Tolman and Allison Tolman from Cowley; Ethan Gunther, Christian Allphin, Bob Wellwood and Wade French from Cody; Jerry Stott from Green River; John Henderson and Mike Conner from Greybull and Mike Masterson from Powell.
Parmer encourages the community not to pass up an opportunity to hear these unaccompanied horns as they celebrate the music of the season.
Admission is free and open to the public.
