POWELL, Wyo. - Spring Roundup 2013 is now accepting programming proposals for the two-day ag conference funded in part by the United States Department of Agriculture Risk Management Agency.
Spring Roundup programming is focused on risk management training for livestock and forage producers as well as specialty crop producers, including sunflowers, honey, local farmer markets, as well as hobby producers.
Presenters are needed to provide workshops on risk management plans and strategies for ag production, legal considerations, marketing, financial concerns and human resources. The workshops will be a hands-on classroom format with traditional lecture-style components.
The overarching goal is to provide an opportunity for producers to learn about existing and emerging risk management tools and how to use them to make sound management decisions.
Conference organizers are looking for producers who’ve found a way to manage risk in their operation and would like to share their experience with others. Suggestions for established speakers are also welcome. The deadline for submitting proposals is Monday, Nov. 5.
Spring Roundup 2013 will be hosted Jan. 24-25 on the Northwest College campus in Powell, Wyo.
