POWELL, Wyo. ─ What values should Northwest College take to heart as it serves area residents?
That’s the question NWC President Stefani Hicswa will ask during a Thursday, Oct. 1, public meeting to gain input as part of the college’s process to update its Mission Statement. The 5:30 p.m. meeting will be held in room 70 of the Fagerberg Building on campus.
“We want public involvement and input, so I hope interested persons will take a few minutes to share their insights,” Hicswa said.
Hicswa will conduct the meeting and administer a brief survey of institution-wide values as developed by NWC employees. To inform the college’s next iteration of its strategic plan, Hicswa will also query participants about what they want NWC to be like in five years.

Higher education missions are intended to clearly state an institution’s purpose, Hicswa explained.
“What we say the college is creates a solemn responsibility for us,” the third-year NWC president added. “We hold ourselves to that statement, and we take public accountability seriously.”
The college’s accrediting agency, the Higher Learning Commission, requires colleges and universities to document how their planning and budgeting priorities align with and support the mission.
