POWELL, Wyo. - Eighteen students, faculty and alumni from Northwest College traveled to Greece over spring break to discover for themselves Hippocrates’ observation “Life is short, the art long.” An exhibit of photographic artifacts from their journey opens with a 7:30 p.m. artists’ reception Tuesday, May 3, in the SinClair Gallery at NWC.
The show, titled “OMPAAH!! In Greece,” features candid shots from everyday life as well as the spectacular sights to be found on the Island of Crete, the Acropolis in Athens, Parthenon, Knossos, Corinth Canal, Acropolis of Mycenae, Olympia, Delphi and Meteora.
The collection of images represents Greece as it’s seen through the eyes of both anthropology and photography faculty and students.
“OMPAAH!! In Greece” hangs in SinClair Gallery through Sept. 9. Located in the Orendorff Building on the NWC campus, the gallery is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. weekdays. Admission is free.
