POWELL, Wyo. - “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get.” This line from the movie Forrest Gump reflects the spirit of the upcoming Choral Sampler concert at Northwest College on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
Just like with an old-fashioned Whitman Sampler, the audience may get a chewy walnut in the guise of a Latin motet, a smooth dark chocolate jazz ballad or the crispy center of an African-American spiritual.
What is guaranteed is a relaxed and informal concert of “works in progress” by the Northwest College Choir, directed by Jan Kliewer, and the Northwest Studio Singers, directed by Craig Olson.
Longer than a sitcom but shorter than a movie, the concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the Hinckley Library Amphitheater.
Admission is free.
