POWELL, Wyo. - The Northwest College Percussion Ensemble heads south of the border in a 7:30 p.m. concert Tuesday, Dec. 6, in the Nelson Performing Arts Center Auditorium.
Under the direction of Robert Rumbolz, the six-member ensemble offers Latin American rhythms that highlight sophomore Keller Paulson on a marimba solo in “Rain Dance” by Alice Gomez, and on the virtuosic timpani in “Toccata,” a major work of 20th Century percussion literature by Carlos Chavez.
Rumbolz calls the evening’s repertoire a “bounty of works featuring the rhythms of our neighbors to the south.”
Admission is free and open to the public.
