POWELL, Wyo. - Northwest College announced it is updating its student identification cards to assist area businesses and institutions that provide discounts, admission passes and other benefits to NWC students.
The student ID cards now feature a date sticker under the student’s photo indicating the most current semester the cardholder is enrolled in classes and therefore eligible for benefits offered by merchants and others.
The red sticker issued in January says “SPRING 2011.”
NWC initiated the validation process after learning that former students sometimes use their ID cards to gain privileges even after they’ve graduated or discontinued their schooling.
The college recognizes that the ID cards serve a dual purpose to help integrate NWC students into local retail and organizational communities and to help ensure students’ business transactions boost the local economy.
