NWC offers students additional COVID-19 grant funding

Posted February 10, 2021

Northwest College has received funding from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) that has been designated to support students enrolled for the spring semester.

The NWC Financial Aid Office will award CRRSAA student grants based on financial need and enrollment status or participation in the GEAR UP and TRiO programs, on a first come, first served basis. No separate student grant application is required in order for a student to be evaluated for grant eligibility, but students must meet the following initial criteria:

  • Students must be enrolled in a NWC credit-bearing certificate or degree program, and be enrolled in credit-bearing courses, at the time of grant eligibility review.
  • The student must have a fully completed and valid 2020-21 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) on file at NWC.
  • The student must meet the definition of a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen as determined by the FAFSA.

Those who have not yet filed the current year 2020-21 FAFSA but wish to do so for grant eligibility consideration may do so at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid/fafsa.

Student eligibility review and grant awarding will begin Tuesday, Feb. 16, and will continue throughout the duration of the spring 2021 semester until available funds are exhausted.  Students who are eligible to receive CRRSAA grant funds will be notified of their grant award through the NWC Business Office.
