POWELL, Wyo. - The Northwest College Forensics Team started its season by scoring first among community colleges and second overall at a swing tournament in Colorado Springs hosted by the United States Air Force Academy and University of Utah.
Twenty-three teams competed at the Sept. 30-Oct. 2 doubleheader, with the University of Houston claiming the overall championship, followed by NWC.
The Northwest team also earned enough individual awards to take second overall in the debate sweepstakes and third overall in individual events.
The team traveled the following weekend to Casper to compete in the Oct. 6-8 Pioneer Trails Tournament, placing second behind Carroll College from Helena, Mont.
