POWELL, Wyoming — Northwest Gallery in Powell ends the season with a juried display of artwork created during the 2015-16 academic year.
The “Juried Student Art and Design Exhibit” opens Tuesday, April 19, with a 7 p.m. artists' reception. The annual show features drawing, painting, printmaking and ceramics created by Northwest College students across the curriculum.
This year’s show is juried by Karen McWhorter, curator at the Whitney Western Art Museum in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. McWhorter will also select and present the purchase award winners during the reception. These are the pieces the Northwest College Board of Trustees traditionally purchases from the show for the college's permanent collection.
The student exhibit hangs in the gallery (located in the Cabre Building) through Saturday, May 7. Northwest Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.
