On Friday, April 28, the Northwest College Multicultural Club will be celebrating the Hindu holiday of Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors, with a color-filled water balloon battle. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Northwest College Intercultural House located at 565 College Drive. The colors used are washable, but participants and visitors should still dress accordingly.
Holi is a spring festival traditionally celebrated in India and areas of South Asia, as well as in other countries with significant Hindu populations. It is a time for celebration, forgiveness, and renewal, and a chance to forget past grievances while coming together in joy and friendship. The festival has deep cultural and religious significance, marking the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring after winter.
