POWELL, Wyoming — Workers needing MSHA trainings have two opportunities to be trained in November at the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development.
MSHA New Miner Training Parts 46 and 48 and MSHA Refresher Training are both offered the week of Nov. 16-19.
The new miner training meets from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Wednesday, Nov. 16-18, to cover miner rights, dust hazards, hazard recognition, electrical safety, accident prevention, ground control, supervisory responsibility, noise hazards, first aid, transportation, fire safety and respirators. Cost is $239 per person.
The MSHA refresher course meets from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, for basic construction workers and miners engaged in shell dredging or employed at sand, gravel, surface stone, surface clay, colloidal phosphate or surface limestone mines. This training is also applicable to underground miners in the coal and gypsum industries. Cost is $99 per person.
