POWELL, Wyo. - Charlotte Patrick, a retired communication professor at Northwest College, will talk about indirect aggression in the workplace at the Tuesday and Thursday, Jan. 19 and 21, Lunch Series in Cody and Powell.
Patrick has studied the intricacies of communication, both verbal and nonverbal, for nearly 50 years. In her presentation, she'll identify and share insights about indirect aggression behaviors that most people have encountered sometime in their work experience. She'll discuss the background that helps explain why some people are nice to a person's face and then stab them in the back later, or why some employees become "crazymakers," manipulating their way through and around the workplace. Patrick will also share constructive ways for dealing with indirect aggression in the workplace.
The one-hour program gets underway in both communities at noon, with networking opportunities starting at 11:45 a.m. The Cody session meets Tuesday, Jan. 19, in Room 2206 of the NWC Cody Center, located in the Park County Complex. In Powell, the group convenes Thursday, Jan. 21, in the Center for Training and Development on the Northwest College West Campus.
Cost is $7 per person, which includes both the program and a lunch. Seats must be reserved at least one day prior to the event.
E-mail reservations are accepted for the Cody or Powell program, or by calling Carri at (307) 587-3506 or Stacy at (307) 754-6062.
