POWELL, Wyo. - The public is invited to learn about upcoming guided travel opportunities to France and Scotland during an informational meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, in Room 130 of the Orendorff Building at Northwest College in Powell.
The meeting and subsequent trips will be guided by Northwest College’s Director of International Programs, Harriet Bloom-Wilson, and her husband, Richard Wilson, a NWC Professor Emeritus in Humanities.
This year, the Wilsons are looking at two distinct trips in mid-May to early June; each one covering nine nights and 10 days.
Participants in the first class will travel to southern France, starting in Marseille and heading west to the northeast coast of Spain. The second class goes to Scotland, concentrating on the northern and western coasts.
These travel experiences, offered as NWC field studies courses, are preceded by on-campus preparatory classes during the spring 2012 semester. They can be audited or taken for credit.
Specific dates and costs will be discussed at the Sept. 20 meeting.
The Wilsons have a long history of escorting and educating Big Horn Basin residents and NWC students as they discover European regions through travel experiences. The couple’s familiarity with their destinations and advance planning has always ensured comprehensive learning opportunities for trip participants.
