POWELL, Wyo. - A weekend class in Powell will show participants what it takes to become an active trader in equities, commodities, foreign exchanges and other markets.
“Introduction to the Trading Market” meets from 6-9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, and from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Northwest College Powell Center for Training and Development.
Led by Paul Thomas of Trading Market Technicals, the class starts by helping participants identify what kind of trader they want to become and how to prepare for the trading day. They’ll learn about setting up a business/trading plan, available trading software, market indicators, candlestick analysis, trading setups, finding market divergence, significant market reversals, psychology of trading, money and risk management, trading guidelines and how to begin.
The 10 1/2-hour program explores insights to be gained from chart patterns, indicators, oscillators and candlesticks, as well as intermarket indicators across asset classes. Participants learn how to interpret price action and anticipate where prices might go in the near future.
Basic computer skills are required.
