POWELL, Wyo. - The 2011 Photo Imaging Education Association’s (PIEA) Traveling Photo Exhibit will stop in Powell at Northwest College’s SinClair Gallery through Friday, Oct. 12.
The PIEA exhibit features the top student and faculty photographs from around the world as judged in the association’s annual competition. Over, 6,000 images were submitted from 100 schools in nine countries. The winning photos will travel to over 60 venues in Australia, South Africa, the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom as part of a three-year international tour.
Because of budget cuts, the 2011 exhibit is the last PIEA Traveling Photo Exhibit.
Craig Satterlee, an associate professor of photography at NWC, won third prize in the competition’s faculty single image category. His winning photograph, titled “Flower Bird,” is displayed as part of the exhibit.
Satterlee’s photo and 66 other top photos from the contest can be viewed from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday in SinClair Gallery, located in the Orendorff Building on the NWC campus.
Admission is free.
