POWELL, Wyo. - Low-income individuals in the Big Horn Basin who want to earn a GED can now take the GED test completely free of charge if they plan to enter college or a career/technical program. The regular GED testing fee is $60 for program participants and $75 for nonparticipants.
All that’s required is enrollment in Northwest College’s Adult Education Program and the completion of a short application form.
The Adult Education Program at Northwest College is making this tuition waiver possible through its participation in the Wyoming Challenge Grant.
Northwest’s Adult Education Program offers assistance to individuals in obtaining a GED and to those who need help with basic skills like reading, writing, math or English as a second language. The program also offers college transition assistance to those who already have a high school diploma or GED and want to go to college. A distance education program is available for adults who have work, time or family conflicts.
Adult education classes are offered in Cody, Greybull, Lovell, Powell and Worland. All services are provided free of charge.
