P O W E L L, W y o. - If the gusto behind those news year's resolutions is starting to wane, the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development is coming to the rescue with classes on creating permanent change, imagination in action, and designing for the Web, all offered in just four days from Feb. 20-23.
"A New Year, A New You!" begins at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20. This one-and-a-half-hour program is led by April Holman, a Bob Proctor LifeSuccess Consultant. Utilizing "The Secret," a book and now a movie with the same title, along with the image of the "STICKPERSON," in existence since 1934, Holman will help participants better understand the "treasure" inside themselves and how to find it.
She'll present six principles to help participants gain the knowledge required to create a permanent change and to break old habits. "This is a powerful but easy concept to learn," Holman said. "These two hours can change your life, and help to begin an awareness about yourself you might not know you already possess."

The February Taking Care of Business topic is "Entrepreneurship: The Birth of a Company." Brent Stanger, vice president of operations for Eleutian Technology LLC, will talk about the vision that gave rise to a business that now delivering affordable English language instruction to Asian students using technology available in the Big Horn Basin. After launching its operations in Powell, Eleutian recently opened an office in Cody and will soon be expanding into other areas of Wyoming.
Stanger's presentation begins at 8 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21. As always, admission is free to Taking Care of Business programs, and a light continental breakfast is included.
A Web presence is essential in today's marketplace but creating one doesn't necessarily require tech staff or expensive software, according to Bill Boudreaux, a Cody High School business education and computer technology teacher. He'll show business owners and individuals how to create their own Web site during a six-hour class Saturday, Feb. 23.
Using Microsoft Word, Publisher and Visual Web Developer 2008, Boudreaux will demonstrate basic Web site design and publication using everyday software. He'll cover HTML code, image optimization, and more in this hands-on Web site construction course. Participants are encouraged to bring their own ideas and images or use classroom samples to build internet-ready Web pages.
Fundamental computer knowledge is required. Cost is $45 and includes a CD-R.
All three trainings are held at the Northwest College Cody Center for Training and Development, located at 1501 Stampede Ave., in the Park County Complex.
