P O W E L L, W y o. - Three more computer application trainings will be offered during April at the Northwest College Center for Training and Development. They cover fundamental computer knowledge and the Internet, word processing and presentation software.
Computer and Internet Basics training meets from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18. It's designed for anyone who would like to learn computer fundamentals, and acquire a basic knowledge of how to use the Internet. Participants become familiar with rudimentary computer terminology, the settings and elements of the operating system, accessing online help and other basic computer functions. The class also covers Web-browsing, searching and other features needed to move around on the World Wide Web.
The registration deadline for this class is Monday, April 16. Cost is $30 and includes a comprehensive manual.
A two-part Basic Word training is offered from 4-6:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, April 23 and 25. This class introduces the tools needed to create, edit, print and save a Word document. Starting with the basics, students first learn to use toolbars, fonts, margins, borders, shading, bullets, clip art, cut, copy and paste commands. They'll advance to columns, tables and templates and in the process learn to use Wizards and the help command, and how to create headers and footers, envelopes and labels.
Registrations for this class must be received by Friday, April 20. Cost is $60 and includes a comprehensive workbook.
A Fast Track Friday PowerPoint '03 Basic class meets from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, May 4, to cover the fundamentals of PowerPoint design and introduce the many types and uses of multimedia integration in a PowerPoint presentation. Some of the topics covered include creating a custom design template and presentations with special effects, delivering a slide show presentation with music, video and sound, and creating presentations using advanced Visual Basic tools and presentations for Web site broadcasting.
Cost is $60 per person, which includes a comprehensive manual. The registration deadline is Wednesday, May 2.
