P O W E L L, W y o. - The Northwest College Alumni Association (NWCAA) Board of Directors voted at its Saturday, Nov. 10, meeting to increase the size of the board from 20 to a maximum of 30 members.
Brian Webster of Cody, who presided over the meeting as president, encourages other area alumni to think about joining him on the board. Webster is in the last year of his second three-year term. His years of service on the board helped him realize that a few more directors could not only better represent the 18,000-member alumni association, but also generate the new ideas and projects that help keep a board healthy and vital. Webster was a member of the NWC class of 1984. He is now a real estate sales associate.
Other Codyites currently serving on the NWC Alumni Board are Toni Adkins, James Bell, Kim Easum, Gail Terry, Tim Vannoy and Ted Wambeke. Rounding out the board's officers are retired Army Lt. Col. Clay Cummins of Billings, immediate past president; and Jan Kiefer, a Ten Sleep public school teacher, secretary.
Chartered in 1988, NWC's Alumni Association was the first among Wyoming's seven community colleges and among the first in the Rocky Mountain area.
The association's mission is to serve as the principal link between Northwest College and its worldwide network of alumni. Additionally, the association promotes alumni affiliation with the college; provides activities and services for alumni; and engages the talents and resources of alumni in the life, work and mission of the college.
This year, the 20-member board is composed of supportive alumni from throughout the Big Horn Basin, other locations in Wyoming, south-central Montana and Colorado. It meets twice a year in November and May.
Anyone who attended NWC for at least one semester while enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits is considered an alum. Cody-area alumni who are interested in joining the Northwest College Alumni Association Board of Directors are encouraged to e-mail Mark Kitchen , NWC Vice President for College Relations, or call (800) 560-4692, ext. 6045.
