POWELL, Wyoming — Trapper Athletics fans on the western edge of the Big Horn Basin will have the chance to watch the Northwest College Men’s Basketball Team in action Saturday, Nov. 19, in the Cody High School Gym. The excitement then moves to the Millstone Pizza Company and Brewery following the matchup.
The Trappers tip-off against Game Gear, a Utah based all-star team, beginning at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Admission is free.
This year’s NWC roster features Blake Hinze, of Cody, and three players from Powell including Carter Baxter, Marshall McArthur and Stephen Parker. Other players from around the Big Horn Basin are Joey Jewell of Cowley, Tanner Coleman of Deaver, Seth Bennett of Meeteetse and Chandler Ramos of Worland.
This season marks coach Brian Erickson’s fifth year at the helm of the NWC men’s team. Throughout his first four years as head coach, he helped guide the Trappers to a combined record of 88-44. During the 2014-2015 season, the Trappers hosted and won the Region IX tournament and went on to finish in eighth place overall in the NJCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Tournament.
After the game, the public is invited to join players from both teams for a 7 p.m. no-host social hour at Millstone Pizza Company and Brewery located at 1057 Sheridan Avenue in Cody.
