Northwest College men’s basketball star Chris Boucher was held from Saturday’s action following a team violation for lying to coaches about passing a class, Trappers head coach Brian Erickson said Saturday.
Boucher played in the Trappers’ 134-115 loss Friday, but Erickson made the decision to sit the sophomore during NWC’s victory over Southwest Illinois on Saturday after learning of the false information.
Erickson said Boucher will not play in NWC’s Region IX opener against Sheridan College on Friday, but added he “should be good to go on Saturday.”
Boucher, a 6-10 sophomore from Quebec, Canada, transferred to NWC this season from New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, N.M. In 15 games, Boucher is averaging 20 points with 8.6 rebounds and four blocks.
