Loss To Casper Leaves Team Without Votes
The Northwest College Trapper men’s basketball team is back to where it was at the start of the season — off the radar of the national junior college basketball rankings. The Trappers, who began 2012 as one of more than 50 teams receiving votes in the national top 20 poll, lost all their supporters following an 85-80 home loss to Casper College.
The Trappers were in action Wednesday night against Miles Community College. The team could regain some of its lost support on Saturday when the Trappers host No. 20 Western Wyoming. The Mustangs are the only Region IX team to appear in this week’s top 20. Western Nebraska and Sheridan also received votes. On the women’s side, Casper College held steady at No. 6. The Thunderbirds remain the only Region IX team to receive votes.
