Apply to attend an Artist Professional Development Workshop offered through the Wyoming Innovation Partnership (WIP), and scheduled for Saturday, March 23, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Northwest College. Register at uwyo.edu/as/wip.html by March 7 for a chance to be among the 20 participants selected, with attendees awarded a $500 honorarium to enable their participation in the day-long workshop. Additional funds are also available to cover transportation and lodging costs for those in financial need. Notification about selections will be made by March 9.
This special program enables artists and creatives to master creative economy basics, solidify a plan, and even refine their pitch for a chance to win up to $25,000 in start-up funding. Workshops are intended for currently practicing artists in a wide range of fields. Experienced as well as emerging artists are welcome to apply. Creatives, including (but not limited to) visual artists, musicians, writers, craftspeople, dancers, and actors, with a desire to bring their artistic practice to a new level of professionalism or with a desire to create an arts-focused business or startup are eligible.
There is no education requirement to apply, but applicants MUST be full-time residents of the State of Wyoming, or full-time students in the arts at Wyoming post-secondary institutions. Participants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of the workshop.
