Learn firsthand how the Lunar New Year is observed in a handful of Asian countries as NWC students from China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Macau and Vietnam host a program about the “what, how, why and where” of Lunar New Year in their native lands. Following the presentation, the public is invited to participate in festive games and activities traditional to holiday celebrations in these countries.
In addition to conversations about cultures, geography and traditions in their respective countries, students will also demonstrate the art of calligraphy by writing names of their guests for them to keep.
As is customary, the audience will be treated to a sensorial feast, including a selection of food from each country. The event is sponsored by the NWC Multicultural Club and the Office of Intercultural Programs.
Admission is free.
