This year, 10 students from Japan are enrolled at Northwest College. They are the largest national group on campus and will share a variety of their homeland’s culture during a Japanese Night at 7 p.m. in the Yellowstone Building Conference Room.
The evening includes a multimedia presentation about the country, calligraphy, origami and other cultural highlights--and of course, food. The students will prepare a couple traditional Japanese dishes and a traditional Japanese drink.
The evening also features a special musical presentation and performance by Grand Master, Michael Chikuzen Gould, who will play the Shakuhachi.
Duyang Wen, a Japanese teaching fellow at Northwest, will participate in the program as well.
Admission is free, and the event is open to the public.
