Welcome Back to NWC - Residence Life
Posted: August 29, 2021
Welcome Trappers,
The fall semester is here, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome everyone back to campus. You probably have many questions about what it’s going to be like on campus this fall and what to expect for everything from your academics and activities to residence life and student services. With everyone’s commitment to health and safety precautions, we can get through this together, keep our campus open and you on your path to success.
Residence Life
Your health and safety are a top priority, so we’ve kept a few measures in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our halls. Your adoption of these health and safety protocols will be important from the first day of the semester through the last day of finals.
Remember, we’re all in this together.
The Plan
- Students living in the traditional residence halls can get a single room this year (at no additional cost); please see the NWC Housing Office.
- There will be regular, rigorous disinfection of common areas in buildings across campus, including residence halls.
- Residents are asked to maintain social distancing whenever possible and limit time spent in close contact (where distancing is difficult).
- College-sanctioned social events and activities will be hosted around campus and in the halls. We ask for your cooperation in keeping distance and contact from others whenever possible.
- Every effort will be made to support our students interested in staying on campus if they must;
- Quarantine (those who become exposed to COVID-19 but have not tested positive)
- or Isolate (those who test positive for COVID-19)
- Specific details about NWC COVID-19 protocols can be found on the MyNWC College portal at https://nwc.edu/mynwc.
What this means for you
- Face coverings are optional at this time but highly recommended, and both N95 and cloth masks are available at multiple locations across our campus.
IMPORTANT:
- Campus operations may change as the year progresses, so please keep up with NWC COVID communications in your college email, on nwc.edu/covid and on various NWC social platforms for important updates.
- Urgent communications will be sent through the college’s RAVE alert system, so be sure to sign up for those alerts on the MyNWC College portal when prompted at login.
