Welcome Back to NWC - Dining

Posted: August 29, 2021

Hello, students,

Having dining options is one of the many conveniences of being on campus, and we want you to be able to safely enjoy those options this semester. With health and safety precautions in place, dining on campus will look a little different than it has in the past. Continue reading to learn about our plan and how it may affect you.

The Plan

All dining employees will be screened before working each day. Hand sanitizing stations are located at each entrance and throughout the main dining area. Seating areas will be sanitized after each use and will be spaced according to guidelines.

What this means for you

Though much of your dining experience will remain the same, there may be elements of it that are different so here’s what you need to know:

  1. Main line dining and sandwiches will continue to be served by staff with salad, pizza, and desserts self-serve.
  2. The Trap (formerly the Hub) will also have signage, directional arrows, plexiglass dividers, and the tables spaced appropriately. But fear not—there will still be tasty food options available; this location will offer breakfast and lunch, grab-and-go salads, fruit, sandwiches, flatbreads, wraps and Mac n Cheese. They will also offer Starbucks coffee, espresso, signature recipes, Frappuccino’s, and refreshers.
  3. The Bite by Sodexo app can be used to view menus and to order food to go (see how below). The app will allow payment by meal plan or credit card. Note, if you are required to quarantine or isolate on campus, you’ll also be able to use this app for food delivery.
  4. Face coverings are tentatively optional, but highly recommended and both N95 and cloth masks are available at multiple points across our campus.
  5. Signage will guide you in the Dining Hall and will indicate where to stand for safe social distancing practices while waiting in line.
