Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) – Effective April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020
Many of you may have heard about the new Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) that was recently passed, and which goes into effect on April 1, 2020. We are currently working on how this new leave program will be operationally administered at the College, and we will soon be providing you with additional information on how to request leave if and when it is needed.
By law, the College is required to post a notice of the FFCRA requirements in a conspicuous place on its premises. According to the Department of Labor, since many employers have all or part of their workforce working remotely, an employer may satisfy this requirement by emailing or direct mailing this notice to employees, or posting this notice on an employee information internal or external website. In an attempt to ensure all of our employees have access to this information, we are sharing this information today via email.
Please open the attached pdf to view the new federal poster and information regarding the new FFCRA.
This poster is also available on our MyNWC website under Departments, Human Resources, Employment, Families First Coronavirus Response Act. Those of you who may still be working on campus will find this notice on our campus bulletin boards where employment law information is typically posted.
As mentioned above, we will soon provide additional information to you about the FFCRA and how to request leave under this new program if and when it is needed. However, if you have any urgent questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 754-6401 or Payroll and Benefits Specialist, Tracy Gasaway, at 754-6107.
